My dead friend Zoe is a dark comedy drama that follows the journey of merit (Sonequa Martin-Green), a veteran of the US Army in the Afghanistan army, which is in contradiction with her family due to Zoe’s presence (Natalie Morales), the best friend her dead in the army. Despite the persistence of his group counselor VA (Morgan Freeman), his mother’s harsh love (Gloria Reuben) and the levity of an unexpected love interest, the dysfunctional dysfunctional merit and friendship maintains the world isolated duo. This is until the merit of the alienated grandfather (Ed Harris) – he was thrown at the ancestral house of the ancestral lake – he begins to lose his way and needs one thing he refuses … help. In its center, this is a friendly film about a complicated friendship, a divided family and the complex ways in which we process the pain.
