Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of their families. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s cohabitation, expressing her feelings in the form of violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into their exciting new life together. However, their happiness is interrupted when Francis is injured physically and mentally in an accident.
